THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC STORY

Fifty years after the Dark Lord Voldemort's defeat, the legacy of his terrifying deeds has not yet vanished from the wizarding world. Boiling tensions between the Muggleborn and the purebloods seethed underneath the calm surface. Voldemort had been a firm believer in the superiority of the pureblood, and his actions during the conflict demonstrated his beliefs clearly to the wizarding world.

As a result, many wizards of Muggle parentage were tortured and killed. After the dust settled, fingers started to point. The Muggleborn saw the purebloods as tacit supporters of Voldemort's genocidal activities, and the already strained ties between the two communities started to fray. As more and more evidence of Death Eater atrocities emerged after the war, public opinion of purebloods deteriorated rapidly. Factions formed almost overnight, with Muggleborns and purebloods antagonizing each other directly.

They nominated a seven-person council that convened regularly in the Ministry, consisting of the Minister of Magic and two representatives each for the Muggleborn, halfbloods, and purebloods. However, the peace brokered was a fragile one, held together only out of respect for the Chosen One and his friends. Squabbles still occur frequently in the council today, a symptom of the underlying discontent that still exists after fifty years. Leaders change, and sometimes the representatives are not the ones with real influence over their people.

Barely a month after the appointment of Alexis Rosier as the new Minister of Magic, a young man by the name of Marc Brandon came to prominence among the Muggleborn. A charismatic leader, his fame spread like wildfire, as did his message: the oppression of the Muggleborn must stopped. Apparently, the newly elected Minister of Magic, along with her department heads, were all pureblooded wizards. His call for equality for all struck a resounding chord with the populace, and six months later today, Marc is in control of his own political organization, The Unity.

Boasting of support from nearly all Muggleborn and halfbloods, he frequently organizes rallies in the streets to launch a tirade against the purebloods in power.

After all . . . there is only one constant. War. War never changes. The end of one war becomes the seed of another.
